It’s been just over a week since we launched our brand new audio plugin, Sydney Vintage Console, and we’d like to take a moment to look back at what has happened since release.
Launching a new plugin is always an exciting moment, but it’s never the end of the development process. In many ways, it’s the beginning. Once a product reaches engineers, producers, and enthusiasts around the world, real-world usage quickly reveals opportunities for improvement that simply can’t be fully replicated in a smaller development environment.
Our first hands-on test:
Sydney officially launched on 27 May 2026. The response from the community has been incredibly encouraging, and we’ve enjoyed seeing the first reviews, measurements, and discussions appear online. Watching users explore the plugin’s character and workflow has been both rewarding and informative for our team.
One of the things we value most is feedback. Whether it comes from professional engineers, hobbyists, or technically minded users running detailed analyses, every perspective helps us refine our products and make them better.
That feedback played an important role in our first post-launch update, which became available through Aquarius on 4 June 2026.
The update introduces several improvements:
- Some equaliser controls that could not be mapped using MIDI CC have been fixed.
- New default settings have been implemented for selected controls, including the LP filter and MID frequency knobs.
- We have resolved an issue affecting the ultrasonic frequency band of the POST amplifier stage, which could manifest as a rippled impulse response when used in series with one of the 32 preamps.
We appreciate the community members who brought attention to the behaviour and helped us verify the solution.
Summer Sale:
Alongside the update, we also launched our Summer Sale on 3 June, which will run until 31 July 2026. The sale has already introduced Sydney to many new users, and we’re delighted to welcome them to the London Acoustics community.
As always, we’d like to thank everyone who has supported Sydney since launch. Your feedback, critical listening, reviews, and music help shape the future of our products.
We’re excited to continue improving Sydney and look forward to sharing more updates in the weeks and months ahead.
